APsystems Extends Standard Warranty to 25 Years for DS3 and QT2 Microinverters, Underscoring Long-Term Reliability

APsystems, a global leader in solar microinverter technology, is proud to announce that its DS3 and QT2 series microinverters now come with a 25-year standard warranty in Canada. This major upgrade—expanding from the previous 10-year standard warranty with an optional 15-year extension—underscores APsystems’ commitment to long-term product reliability and customer satisfaction.

The new 25-year standard warranty officially went into effect in May 2025, covering all DS3 and QT2 microinverters moving forward. With this enhancement, APsystems eliminates the need for customers to take additional steps to secure extended coverage, ensuring that all units are backed by 25 years of comprehensive protection from the outset.

“Our products are designed to last, and now our warranty fully reflects that,” said Doug Hewitt, Director at APsystems. “By extending our standard warranty to 25 years, we’re not only demonstrating the durability of our microinverter technology but also making it more convenient for our customers—eliminating extra paperwork and providing the peace of mind that comes with long-term coverage.”

The new warranty coverage applies to all DS3 and QT2 microinverters sold in Canada and will take effect on May 1, 2025, for all new shipments from APsystems. Units sold prior to this date will continue to follow the original extended warranty process. An updated price list reflecting the associated warranty costs will be provided.

The extension of APsystems’ warranty reflects the company’s unwavering confidence in the longevity and performance of its microinverters, engineered for high efficiency, durability, and ease of installation in both residential and commercial applications.

As one of the leading innovators in Module-Level Power Electronics (MLPE), APsystems continues to deliver cutting-edge microinverter solutions that maximize energy production, streamline installation, and enhance system monitoring. With over 6GW of installed capacity worldwide and operations in more than 130 countries, APsystems remains dedicated to driving the future of solar energy.

Honoring Innovation in Canadian Solar: Meet the 2024 APsystems Project of the Year Winners

Across Canada, solar professionals are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with clean energy. At APsystems, we’re proud to support that innovation with our advanced microinverter technology—now installed in more than 150 countries, generating over 6GW of power globally. But our success is only possible because of the creative, forward-thinking installers who turn great ideas into powerful systems every day.

Now, we’re shining a spotlight on the standout projects that exemplify solar excellence in Canada. This year’s winners delivered some of the most inventive and high-impact installations we’ve seen—each one a testament to the progress being made in solar design and execution. A sincere thank you to everyone who shared their work with us. The level of creativity and craftsmanship made the selection process incredibly tough—and incredibly inspiring.

In the residential category, Flux Renewables takes home the top prize for their 18.63kW install in the Rocky Mountain foothills of Alberta. Designed to power a working bed and breakfast, the system handles consistent shade from trees and cloud cover with ease. “The combination of safety, dependability, advanced tech, affordability, and simple installation made APsystems the right choice,” said CEO Tanner Robertson. “This setup experiences plenty of shade—yet the APsystems microinverters manage it efficiently.”

Ready Solar earns second place in residential for their battery-ready residential install in Surrey, BC. “With over 70% of our recent projects being battery backup installs, we love that these microinverters are battery compatible,” said Zahir Anwaaz. “It gives customers an upgrade option for the future.”

Geddes & Murphy Electric Ltd leads the way in the commercial category with their 135kW barn rooftop system at Hill Peak Farms. “We’ve installed around 1,000 APsystems microinverters and they’ve produced more energy than our estimates almost every time,” said Scott Geddes. “The ease of installation, pricing, and performance are hard to beat.”

AB Ltd O/A Solis Energy takes second place for their 35.6kW ground mount install near Olds, Alberta. “There’s no single point of failure, and the plug-and-play install made the job simple,” said Jon Schneider. “Our customer loves the monitoring system.”

Hansen Solar Energy wins in the nonprofit category for their work at the Bills Lane affordable housing project in Charlottetown, PEI. This 82.35kW system helps reduce energy costs for low-income residents while showcasing the power of clean energy for community housing. “The ability to mix panel orientations without losing efficiency was a game-changer,” said Lisa Gallant. “And the real-time monitoring gave our client the peace of mind they needed.”

This year, we introduced a new category: Multi-Family. Solar YYC earns this recognition for their 315kW system across four residential buildings in Calgary’s Copperfield Park II. “APsystems solved the rapid shutdown and MLPE needs across many roof faces,” said President Alex Tyndale. “It’s plug-and-play without sacrificing quality, and delivers real savings to residents.”

Each of these winning projects represents the best of what solar can offer—ingenuity, sustainability, and real-world impact. Congratulations to all of our 2024 Canadian Project of the Year winners! Your work not only lights up homes and businesses, but also inspires the future of solar energy across North America.
